Hi, I’m Rae. I’m turning 30 this year and looking to start living the way I want to live.
I started this blog as a way to hold myself accountable to create change in my life. I feel like I spent the majority of my twenties working for other people, serving other people (ie my children) and living the way that other people wanted me to live. I had spent nearly eight years studying in university and still had no direction in life. I had tons of ideas and goals but could never consistently put in the effort to make them happen. I was tired all of the time and felt like I was “too busy” to make any significant change. I felt trapped and unhappy at my job. I was tired of feeling like my creativity was stifled. I was drained and I was over it.
I made a promise to myself that I wasn’t going to spend my thirties living the same way. I was going to take control of my life and put myself at the forefront. I zoned in on several areas that I felt needed major improvement: Productivity, Time Management, Personal Development and Debt Repayment.
Let’s be clear – this is not a mom blog. I have children and a household to run, which certainly impacts the amount of time I have to spend on myself every day. Imperfect Individuals is not about that. Imperfect Individuals is about me. Imperfect Individuals is about you.
Maybe you have kids. Maybe you don’t. This place is about becoming the people we want to be, despite having kids. It’s about, perhaps, becoming the person you want to be before you have kids. Or maybe it’s about becoming a bad ass just for yourself. Imperfect Individuals is for everyone and anyone who is looking to pick themselves up off the floor, take control, and learn to run their lives like a pro.
So join me, as an imperfect individual who is looking to create change. Who wants to live better and knows that they can live better. We’ll never be perfect, but we can certainly try.
